EU-Project MORPH: Underwater Robotics trials in Girona

Tuesday, April 22, 2014

A number of autonomous underwater and surface vehicles from several European institutions including Jacobs University have just been tested in the waters off the Spanish Costa Brava. The tests were carried out by 26 scientists from Germany, Portugal, Italy, France, and Spain, who are all partaking in the research project MORPH (Marine Robotic System of Self-Organising, Logically Linked Physical Nodes). The four-year project, which started in 2012, is funded by the European Commission as part of its Seventh Framework Programme (FP7) with an overall budget of approximately €8.4 million.
